Trust Chairman calls for more supporters to attend club functions

Trust chairman Lee Mills has today urged Gloucester City supporters to back the football club’s functions. While businesses and corporate clients have been snapping up tickets to next Satuday’s beer and comedy night at Hatton Court Hotel, only a handful of rank and file supporters have purchased tickets.

Mills was at pains to stress that to enable the club to break even this season, supporters must support the club’s functions; “last year we had some terrific evenings at Hatton Court Hotel with the likes of Joe Royle and Ray Parlour coming to speak and while these were well attended by business people and local dignitaries, only a couple of tables were occupied by supporters”

Mills understands money is at a premium but the night would be worth it; ” I appreciate these nights are more expensive than the Trust’s Quiz Nights etc. but the comedy night next week is only £25 a ticket which I think represents good value for a meal and some top quality comedians in a really top class setting. The club simply must make money from these events and if they don’t then ultimately the team on the pitch will suffer. It would be great if players and their families also came along and mingled with supporters”

The evening opens at 7pm with several guest beers available to try plus other drinks promotions throughout.

This will be combined with two one hour slots of stand up comedy from three of the country’s finest comedians: Billy Bean, Austin Knight and Mike Farrell.

Included in the ticket price will be a FREE pint of guest beer and a top class curry buffet.

This event will be held in the hotel’s superb garden marquee facility, perfect for any summer event, and is limited to a 200 capacity, with purchasing only in advance.

If ten tickets are purchased then a table will be reserved for that party but will be strictly on a first come, first served basis.
