Gloucester City Supporters Trust Chairman, Lee Mills will stand down from the role at the end of the current season. Mills has been Chairman since October 2012, succeeding Matt Phillips, however he now feels the time is right to let somebody else take on the role.
“I have been chairman of the supporters trust for 18 months now and while it has been quite a rollercoaster ride, I have thoroughly enjoyed the task and been honoured to fulfil the role. Sometimes in life you have to move on and with that said I will be stepping away from the role at the end of the season. I fully intend to remain on the supporters trust board if the new chairman wishes to have me and will remain an active part of the trust as I am very proud of the money we have raised and the work that we have done for the club and in the community.
There have been high and lows while in the role; the high probably being reaching the FA Cup first round last season against Leyton Orient while the low was the first open meeting where the club went cap in hand to pay its debts. It has been a huge learning experience for me and for my personal development it has been invaluable. Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my time at the helm, special mention go to Taff for his work as secretary and to those board members who have sat through my meetings. But thanks also go to everyone who has supported the trust while I have been chair, thorough being a member or just buying a cash draw ticket.”
